precious nephew...

Will was just hanging out in my arms, and he crashed in the middle of the party. He slept for a brief period of time, but then woke up briefly and rested his head on my shoulder. Robert captured this image, which I love. I hope to capture images like this one day with my own children.

Contagious Smile

We can't forget Will, who has one of the most contagious' smiles I've ever seen in my entire life. I love that in him.

Kate's Got Wheels

Watch out everyone...Kate's got wheels!

Seriously, she's good. She can ride her bike better than any other three year old I know. She already knows how to stop. She is sooo good at this. She wears her Princess helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and rides her princess bike. She has the time of her life. What a fun 3rd birthday!

Zoe's Big Backyard

Zoe's Day Outside!

Zoe is an inside cat, but she sits and meows at the backdoor frequently, and this past Saturday afternoon I allowed her outside. I did insist on a leash and collar...she has no claws and would be defenseless...so we were careful. She enjoyed it and had a great time. Here are a few of her snapshots.

Happy Birthday Robert

Today is my big brother's birthday....and he's been the best daddy for Kate and Will. I only have a few snapshots of him, but here are a few of my favorites. He is a great dad to Kate and Will and a loving husband to Karen. I'm so happy he's got such a great life at his young age! I'm so lucky that I've got Karen for a sister-in-law, who has become my best friend through the years.

Happy Birthday Robert.

And, on another note...I wouldn't be where I am today without the help of my brother. It was my brother who chose to take me aside and give me a serious talk about life, relationships, commitment, and love. It was my brother who made me realize the importance of the mate I choose and how it would affect me. I'm so thankful he risked our relationship to help me see things I hadn't quite seen before. He essentially, helped me make the biggest decision of my life thus far. Thank you Rob, for being a great big brother and teaching me what to look for in a husband. I love you for taking the risk and helping your little sister.

Isn't She Lovely.....

And here's the one of Kate's 2nd Year of life...From 2-3!

Create Your Own

Beautiful Boy

I've been playing around with slideshows, and I'd like to add music to this, but I couldn't figure it out. I was pretty proud of it, so I thought I'd put it on here. If I could pick a song, I'd put his song, "Beautiful Boy" by John Lennon. It's his mama's favorite.

More of the kids...I forgot to post last week.

Back to the normal life...

I flew home yesterday from Omaha to Tulsa, switching planes in Denver. But this time, I had a few cool things happen to me too!

Airport Time in Omaha: Courtney and I left the hotel at the same time because our flights were close together. I dropped her off at the terminal, returned the rental car, and checked in for my flight. But, then I had to wait two hours. There was a plane leaving my gate before my plane even arrived. The coolest part though....I am almost 99% sure I was among a group of CHL hockey players from a team. I'm not sure where, but they were talking hockey...they weren't high school, they were too nice to be junior's, and I'm fairly certain NHL would be in private jets...so I thought that was pretty cool. Too bad I didn't have a hockey shirt on, I could have perhaps drummed up some sort of conversation. Darn it.

Omaha to Denver: But, get this, as I was boarding the plane to Denver I realized there was a team of some sorts on this flight too...hmm..baseball..soccer....not hockey....not baseball..not basketball...what could they be...so down sits a guy with this group right next to me....and I think to myself, I gotta ask. But, the lady on my other side leans over and yells...what kind of team are you with...and he said, I'm with the Gentlemen of Aspen Rugby Club...! Cool huh! Well, it was cool but this lady wouldn't stop talking to me. She talked to me so much that I was quizzed by the flight attendant because I was apparently talking and creating a nuisance for other passengers, but for once, it wasn't me talking..it was the lady. I'll have you know I was 100% correct on all questions and I think it even surprised the flight attendant. How rude was that. I thought it was uncalled for. Anyhow, on with rugby boy. He was older, but he was cute. He was nice..and they were all in such good shape too. It was nice. That was fun!

**Denver Layover: BORING! BORING! BORING! I was initially pleased with the layover as the Denver airport is totally cool. I was able to shop a little, eat a little, shop a little more, and have some ice cream. I still had three hours to go...without a delay in the flight, but then we were an hour delayed. I listened to my ipod, played sudoku, crossword puzzles, and read one and a half books! At least I had something to do. I also got a little exercise walking the terminal in Denver! It was a fun experience...and I was able to take a picture or two of the snow, but they weren't so great.

** Denver to Tulsa: Layover was long enough, and then we were delayed. Scheduling problems! At least I wasn't snowed in there. Although it would have made for a cool story! This leg of the ride was interesting. I was by a mute man, who REEKED of alcohol. It was nasty..seriously, I think he was in the bar all afternoon and it sort of made me nauseous. I'm glad the captain made up for some time in the air...and I took some really cool photographs outside the airplane windows, so here they are.

Check out this baby....

So, this was the rental car I had when I was there...the PT Cruiser. I always make fun of PT Cruiser's, but this one was super fun to drive. They drive really well, and I forgot I was in a Cruiser when I was driving. Such a good time.

Below is the picture of the cruiser, loading up with presents from the hotel!

Chris and Ashley...Chris trying to look pregnant by pushing out his own belly to compare to Ashley's belly! Cute picture. Ashley and Chris are expecting a little girl, and she is due May 19. I can't wait!

One of the fun things to do at showers is to guess how big the mother-to-be is around her midsection. Everyone either was too short or too long, with one exception....(drumroll please)......ME! Can you believe it? I was to the exact milimeter...I think it was a lot of talent and intelligence, but I'm most certain it was pure luck. So, here's me with Ashley and the length of her belly!

Courtney, MaryAnn, and Ashley.

We had a great time at the shower and Ashley received so many wonderful gifts, outfits, blankets, etc. She's a funny girl, but I think she enjoyed it. It was so nice for Chris' mom to put the shower on for Ashley. It was great to see everyone too, since we were up there last July for the wedding..yes, last July! This was a surprise blessing in their life! It was also so fun to hang out with Ash's family all weekend. Her mom and dad flew in from Florida and Courtney flew in from New York City, and I flew in from Oklahoma! So much fun !

Toys in Babeland

I recently had the chance to travel to Omaha for a baby shower for my friend Ashley and her husband Chris. I didn't expect to go, but I decided to at the last minute and I enjoyed every minute of my trip. I have a lot of fun stories and random pieces of information, but I'll try to break it up into a few different posts. See, I have to add pictures too. It was wonderful! I had a great time and I think everyone did as well. I'm excited for Ashley and I can't wait for Baby Girl to arrive. I'm fairly certain they are choosing Emma Claire as the name, which will be adorable.

I took the day off from work on Friday. It was a nice warm week in Oklahoma until Thursday when a cold snap came through. We went from about 80 degrees to about 35 degrees by the time I flew out of Tulsa. It was even snowing a little here, but primarily flurries. I flew out about noon and arrived in Omaha about 6ish. Not too bad. Especially for a layover in Denver as well.

**Tulsa to Denver: I had the great time of sitting among a group of Oklahoma State University Air Force ROTC members on their way to a convention in Salt Lake City. We shared a few cool OSU facts, random information about ourselves, and I enjoyed reminiscing over Stillwater. I loved that town. They were good guys and we fit well in the seats together. (I even had the window seat)

It was snowing and sleeting when I arrived in Denver, so we had to be de-iced before taking off from Denver...

Also, the strangest thing...in Nebraska they farm in circles..I've always seen squares...but they do circles..Can you see them in the picture? It was cool from up high in the sky!

** Denver to Omaha: I had the ability to be in the very, very, very last seat on the right of the aircraft (next to the lavatory). After the guy sat next to me, he remarked to his buddy up ahead "Hey, Shane, I think John should sit back here, it's next to the bathroom." I proceeded to follow that with "Why would he need to sit back here?" and I was given this response, "See, he puked three times on the first flight today, so he should be by the bathroom." My jaw dropped and I laughed a little, without hesitating to say "I don't think it would be a good idea for him to be back here, because if he pukes, I puke, and I think it might turn in to a ripple effect, not a good idea." We laughed and went on our way. John stayed up front. However, little did I know that John was tall, dark hair, blue eyes, and a handsome man at that. I TOTALLY should have used that seat for him. Ha. It was funny. The other funny thing on this flight was the AMOUNT of children on the plane. Literally, I think there were about 15-20 kids on the plane. It was crazy, it was like we were on our way to BabyLand. Maybe Easter had something to do with it!

I landed in Omaha and boy was it COLD!!!!!!

Jump around...jump around..jump up, jump up, and get down..

So, these are a few of my favorites of Will at the farm. However, one has a shadow across his face. I have work to do, but I love the smile on his face. Will also learned how to hold his mama's hand and his Aunt Emily's hand in order to be pulled up high in the sky. So, now he holds our hands and grunts, bends his knees and gets on his tippy toes to be lifted high. I was trying to teach him the word "jump" and it was FUN!
